What is the Brainscan and do students have to take it? The Brainscan is the diagnostic tool that testGEAR uses to generate a customized curriculum for each student. As the student answers the Brainscan questions, the system will pick out Practorials and Microcourses that will help the student to strengthen their weak areas. The Practorials, Microcourses and practice tests make up a student's customized Smart Curriculum. Students have an option to skip the Brainscan, and a standard curriculum will be generated instead. But remember that once a student selects to skip the Brainscan, they do not get another opportunity to take it. back to top
Can I delete student testGEAR accounts? Yes. TestSCOPE allows you to remove student records permanently. Simply mark unwanted or duplicate student accounts for deletion, press the delete button and all marked student records will be removed. back to top
I have students who have forgotten their testGEAR Login Name and Password. Can I look up this information for them? Students can click on the Forgot Your Password link and fill in their Username to view their password reminder. Or students can visit their counselor or teacher who can sign into the Educator tools to look up their login information. back to top
Our school has had the SAT version of testGEAR and recently added the ACT version. I have many students who are currently working through their SAT courses. Do students have to create a whole new account to use the ACT courses? No, if a student is already logged into their SAT account, they can click on Enroll In Another Course. They will then be prompted to enter an eight-digit Universal code -- make sure they enter the ACT code. Now they will have both SAT and ACT courses available from the Welcome To My testGEAR screen. back to top
